Planning my magazine

Firstly I had to come up with a name for my magazine which took some time as it is the thing that has to attract the readers attention and also links into the genre of the magazine. I sketched some images of what I might like my title to look like and asked my friends which they preferred. In the end I chose ELECTRO because it looked good and I could use different colours on each letter, also it links in with the house music genre of my magazine.
For my title I would like to use bright colours in a rainbow style so each letter is different colour this would give the effect of the lights in a club where the genre of my music would be played.

- These would be the sort of colours I would like to use.

I also sketched what I would like my front cover to look like after researching front covers and looking at the conventions of them. I planned to have the title across the top with a main image of my main artist on the front cover, holding some decks as these link in with the genre also I had seen a similar image on the cover of a same genre magazine. The title I will be in bright colours across the top each letter being a different colour. The background colour will be black to make the colours stand out even more. My artist will wear a bright top to stand out and attract attention.

My contents page I sketched was quite simple but effective. I wanted the title contents across the top with similar colours to the front cover so the conventions are linked together. I sketched 2 columns with the content in and a picture of my artist as well as a website along the bottom for my readers to subscribe. The colours will be again bright and stand out on the black background with a picture of my artist wearing the correct clothes which connotes with my genre.

For my double page spread I created a very brief mock up of what I would like my double page spread to look like with some of the colours I would want to use. I would like my artist to be wearing a bright colour because this will be more suited to the genre. For example if he wore black that would represent a Gothic genre whereas I don't want that look.
when taking the photo for my double page spread I have to think about the position of my artist when taking the photo so I can have him on the right hand side of the photo rather than being central.
